For our thriller opening, I think that our costume is going to play a very important part in story telling as we dont have a script physically explaining the plot. By using costumes that indicate the characteristics or lifestyles of the characters, this will enable to viewer to slightly gain insight into the lives of our leading characters in the way we chose to portray them. For example, there are 3 main characters which will be in our opening sequence; the leading male character who we are basing on actors such as Jude Law or Brad Pitt, the wealthy, attractive, alpha-male who seems to have the perfect lifestyle, perfect house, perfect wife etc. His cotume will be the typical male suit, head to toe smart but looking attractive too.
The next lead character will be the female who will appear to be his wife. We are basing her on the character that actresses such as Angelina Jolie play in the film for example "Mr & Mrs Smith". As the opening sequence progresses, the wife will unveil some uncharacteristic traits which arent normally associated with these types of female characters. Her costume will start off in character, so the use of normal, plaid clothing then will change to something more seductive such as a black fitted dress with red heels as red heels are normally assosicated with a sexy, attractive woman in films.
The third character which we will show small clips of is going to persue the role of the seductive, man-stealing, provocative 'other' woman. We will portray this by using costumes such as stockings, suspenders and clothing of that sexual nature to imply this.
