I wanted to look at another thriller film before we started filming. I noticed a few camera techniques when i was watching the opening scene through today. They used tracking when the main lady was running through the forest, this gave the effect that someone was chasing her or she was in a rush? They also did a close up on to a sign, this may have given hints to what was happening, where she was? all these details make the watchers have questions going on in their heads.

I noticed one editing technique used. Doing editing to a thriller film is important because editing is part of the process of making a film. It involves selecting and mixing of different shots. It is the way to get the story across. Film editing is good because if done well no one knows. They use a motivated cut when she is in the office and she is looking at something on the wall and he is talking but you don't see what it is. This builds tensions and makes you want to watch more.

Sound in my opinion is the most important. In most thriller films minor key would be used but sometimes building up to major. Having a sound bridge which is when a piece of music links two scenes also helps. The musical score they use when she is running really builds tension. There is also some dialogue but not much just formal short sentences. This really makes you want to watch on as you only get bits They also add in a diagetic sound when she is panting. This indicates that someone is chasing her, she is in trouble etc?

Lastly M-e-s is  very important. His costume when he stops her makes you know straight away that he is FBI. This helps you know where they are and who they are. The setting in the biggest way of creating the best atmosphere, it is very dark and gloomy. Props are in the shot as well and they are guns which shows it is important and dangerous what they are dealing with. Also a newspaper to show what is going on.
